Get started in 3 steps

  1. Free consultation and feasibility

We look at your block, the existing home and what you want to build, then talk you through your options and rough numbers, whether that is a new family home, a duplex or townhouses.

  2. Design, estimate and approvals

We design the new home to suit your block and budget, give you a clear cost estimate and manage demolition consent, town planning where needed and the building permit.

  3. Demolish, build and handover

We manage the demolition, then build your new home to a fixed-price contract with regular updates until you get the keys.

Frequently asked questions

Is a knockdown rebuild cheaper than renovating?

Often, yes. Once a renovation involves major structural work, new services and an extension, a knockdown rebuild can deliver a better home for similar money, with fewer unknowns. We can price both paths for your block so you can compare like for like.

How much does a knockdown rebuild cost in Melbourne?

Demolition of a typical home usually costs in the tens of thousands, and the new build depends on size and specification. Most single-home rebuilds we deliver land between $600,000 and $1.2 million all up. You get a fixed price before anything is demolished.

Do I need a planning permit to knock down and rebuild?

Not always. A single new home on a standard block often only needs a building permit, but heritage overlays, neighbourhood character overlays and multi-dwelling proposals can trigger town planning. We check what applies to your block during the free feasibility.

How long does the whole process take?

Allow around 4 to 8 months for design, approvals and demolition, then 9 to 14 months for construction depending on the home. We map out the timeline for your project at the estimate stage.

Can I build a duplex instead of one home?

On many blocks, yes. If the zoning and frontage allow it, a duplex can turn the rebuild into an investment as well as a new home. We run the feasibility on both options so you can decide with real numbers.
